Letter from Dr. Reese

Dear Pritzker Families,

A very happy new year to you and your family!  I’d like to take a moment to wish you the very best in 2012!

The 2011-2012 school year has been an exciting one!  Students shared their amazing talents in our Fall Music Extravaganza. The Festival of Arts celebration filled our school with student art.  There is hands-on exploratory learning going on in the new science lab.  The outdoor play space is engaging students in imaginative play. Our new marching band had its first debut; the basketball and soccer teams have ordered new uniforms; and we will be able to enjoy two spring musicals and a jazz weekend in a newly upgraded auditorium!

We are deeply thankful to the families who have donated to this year’s Friends of Pritzker School Annual Giving Campaign for Student Literacy.  Your donations have allowed us to begin the plans for the new library space.  To you, I send my sincere appreciation and gratitude.  Our accomplishments are because of you.

The Chicago Board of Education does not fund many of the programs that make Pritzker unique.  State cuts in school revenue have further constrained our operations.  Simply put, we receive hundreds of thousands less than we did ten years ago, yet we educate more children. Schools are expected to do more with less!

Demonstrate your support for your student’s education and be a contributor this year!   We do not ask this lightly of you, but our success depends on you.  A donation of $100 per student will create a literacy program we can all be proud of.  A contribution of any amount adds resources to our library and enhances every student’s learning.

Donate online at — or return your check made payable to “Friends of Pritzker”.  Your reply before February 29th will impact your student’s educational experience today.

Thank you for your continued support and generosity.

Dr. Joenile S. Albert-Reese
