During visiting artist week the fifth grades took a field trip to Ignite Glass Studios. The kids each created a fused glass piece which involved breaking and arranging colored glass to shape into their designs and then gluing those to a clear base. All of the fused glass pieces were numbered (for identification) and then fired by the pros.
The kids were also treated to a glass blowing exhibition. The pros at Ignite worked with the group to devise a few glass blowing projects and then create the pieces. The flame spraying ray gun was a big hit.
