Walk-a-thon Wind Up

The walkathon is over, and we want to thank all of our students, teachers and parent volunteers who participated and helped the children walk safely on such a beautiful October day!  We would like to thank Dr. Jenkins and the school band for playing for our walkers, adding to the fun and excitement of the day, Linda Roeger for designing the banner, and the folks from Nike who helped the students make the most of their time outside.  Thank you to all of the students who sought pledges to sponsor you for your walk-a-thon, and please remember to thank the parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, friends and neighbors who sponsored you and for their support of our school – because of your efforts and their generosity, we raised over $29,000.00!

Before announcing prize winners, we want to congratulate the following three students who, as of the afternoon of Friday, October 20th, had obtained the most number of sponsors:

Jose Delgado – 25 sponsors
Addison Castro – 18 sponsors; and 
Addison Watt- 17 sponsors.
We would also like to congratulate the following three students who collected the most pledges as of the afternoon of Friday, October 20th:
Isabella Ide – $800.00;
Brett Carr – $755.00; and
Elizabeth Kay – $710.00. 

The online platform (funrun.com) will remain open throughout out the rest of this week where additional online donations may be made.

The winners of the Walk-a-thon classroom prizes, based on the numbers as of the 10/20/17 deadline, are as follows:

Winners of Lou Malnatis voucher for individual pizzas (grade with highest amount raised) is 1st grade, with a total raised of $4825.00.
Winners of Pizza Party for Winter Celebration courtesy of Papa John’s are the three classrooms with highest participation rates:  306, 112, and 301.
Winners of field trip to Green City Market (the two classrooms with highest amount raised) are 112 and 104.
The raffle prize winners are:

Gioi Beukenkampa – Principal for the Day;

Mitra Desai – one-month unlimited yoga pass courtesy of CorePower Yoga; and
Caitlin Patterson – Pump-It-Up five visit punch pass courtesy of Pump-It-Up.
